Since the beginning of human development, the idea has been the decisive driver of progress. Good ideas were – and still are – needed to invent and enhance tools. The most beautiful art forms, such as the fine arts, music or literature, would be unimaginable without ideas.
An idea – the Greek word for which is eidos – can be surprising, groundbreaking or exemplary. But there’s one thing it mustn’t do – and that’s remain unknown. Because an idea will only become a good idea if it takes effect and reaches the goal that was set by its inventor. In the year 2000, this notion triggered the decision to found an agency that gives innovative ideas new perspectives.
